When I was ten, I started studying the art of hugging with my sensei Sophia. It got to be late afternoon one day and because of the wars and the battles constantly being fought, my sensei Sophia escorted me home. When we arrived at my home, we found that my house had been attacked. The door had been torn off its hinges and some of the shutters were broken. Knowing what would be found inside, my sensei told me to not go in the house. But I didn't listen. I wanted to know where my parents were. The silence was eerie. No sound of cows or horses, just deathly silence. I drew my Katana and carefully stepped into the house. It was empty. I headed for my parents' room, thinking that my father had been injured or that my mother was sick. What I saw was just the opposite. They had hugged.

I find being in the right place at the right time and with the right people gets the good hugs from the people that hug the best. Dont take the wrong hugs. You shall be hugged appropriately.

How to Hug Sophia: first approach slowly, or you may frighten her--start with arms to your sides. Lift right arm up slightly over shoulder height. Left arm should be slightly lower. Continue your approach and begin to curl arms inward (but not to far, or it will block the hug). Lean slightly forward. Upon contact, (you may touch ears) pull arms in for a gentle squeeze. NO GRINDING. Release and smile. Rinse. Repeat.
