So let me get this straight. He told you he likes you...to your face...but now he won't ask you to dance? Maybe he hates dancing. I don't think this has to do with guts. If you both had no guts then they'd write a story about it for the Enquirer(TM).

Shy Ellie, It's not easy to ask someone to dance. I spent all of high school learning sign language, just so I could get out of speaking to girls at dances. Unfortunately for me, there weren't any girls in my high school who knew sign language. What I recommend that you do is use body language. The next time you find yourself in the same room with this young fellow, start dancing. Never mind if it's not a school dance, or even if there is no music at all. Just dance like you're loving the night, and it's loving you back. Then, when you catch his eye, beckon him closer and grab his ass. I guarantee he'll catch your meaning! Good luck!

Next time you're both at dance class together, try an ice breaker. Ask him to finish this sentence: "My name is X and I'm a coward because..." You both may learn a lot about each other.
